Two existing projects (MCD and SET Therapeutics) have strong founding academic scientists, while one was more internally led (First Wave Products Group). In cases where the continued involvement of the academic scientist is important for the project’s continued success, FWT has to bring additional expertise – managerial and scientific – in addition to its capital contributions. Finding the right personalities to work with academic founders is important and is achieved by demonstrating the competence and expertise of our technologists, who are often viewed as peers by the founding academic scientist.
In order to complement First Wave’s existing team, we have utilized contingent executive search firms to identify specific domain experts to join individual projects over time. FWT collectively brings over 125 years of combined experience to bear in venture capital financing, nanotechnology and advanced materials, medical device launch, and other backgrounds and competencies.
The complementing strength and expertise of its management team, coupled with its contracted advisors and consultants will ensure that from start to finish the attention to detail (FDA approvals, regulatory hurdles, etc.) will lead to timely decisions and flawless execution.

The strength of any organization is its people.
